Art Classes

We are hosting a series of art classes in various local venues to help you prepare for the parade!  Enjoy hanging out with neighbors and friends to create some whimsey and beauty for the parade!

Spangles are light and playful objects d'arte that dance above the parade!  Come create a spangle to dangle o’er the March o' the Vegetables!  Children will require adult assistance.We will create giant vegetables out of cardboard, paint, glitter, and joy.  Register>>

Giant Puppet + Flower Hat

Be part of a community project that will be carried high in the sky during the March of the Vegetables parade.  You will work with Paula Strobel, Badieh Bryant, and Russel Hendricks to create a giant paper mache and fabric puppet.  Also, you'll have a chance to create your own flower hat to take home and wear in the parade.  Beauty + whimsy!  Register>>

Mask Making and Community Puppet

"The Face of Our Farms".  Using pre-molded paper pulp and mask form, cardboard, or construction paper, participants will create masks that represent our seasons, farms, or vegetables.   Ages 10- adult.  The mask is for you to take home and wear in the parade; the community puppet will be in the parade for all to enjoy.  Register>>

Music Practice!

Duvall Visitor's Center, Duvall

The music is what imbues this parade with fun, whimsy, joy. Come to this low-key practice session to play music with others and get organized to spread music throughout the parade. You don't need to be a formal musician! Come with a shaker, a voice, an instrument, or just yourself to run through a few songs.  Free; no registration required.

Class admission will pay for art teachers, art supplies, and other parade costs such as city permits, insurance, and facility rental. If the fee limits your ability to take a class, please contact us. Our aim is to make these classes accessible to all community members.
